Group: Concept Development (Mise-en-scène)

Props

• Three of the protagonists- Alexis, Imogen and Sophie- carry cameras, which we will also use for the handicam shots.
• A gothic crucifix in the house creates a sinister feel and has religious connotations, conventional of horror. 
• In the house we will have CUs of toys, connoting innocence, which have had their heads and limbs ripped apart, creating an ominous feel, as well as foreshadowing Sophie’s death.

Costume

• The girls wear day-to-day clothes, just slightly damaged and dirty.
• The corpses will be wearing blood stained clothes, torn and ripped where appropriate
• The zombies will have tattered costumes, fitting with the stereotypical zombie image. 

Make-up

• The girls’ will wear a small amount of smudged eye make-up. 
• The zombies will have lots of purple and blood red make-up.

Lighting

• The piece is set during the late afternoon/evening, so the lighting when outside in the first part will be soft daylight.
• However the grave yard and forest sequence happen later, so the lighting will be darker as the sun is setting. The lighting when in the woods will be dim, as the trees block out the sun, complimenting the more sinister situation.
