Group: Feedback on Second Shoot

Where, when, how, with whom did you go?
Location: Woodbury Park Cemetary, Tunbridge Wells

Date: Sunday 11th March, 4:30 - 6:30

How:
  • Zombie make-up by Heather Robbins
  • Prosthetic effects made by Rozzy Adams
  • Filmed on Canon IXUS, Panasonic HDC-SD80, and Sony Bloggie for handicam shots
  • A tripod was used for tracking shots, and a wheelchair used as a make-shift dolly for pedding and moving shots

Cast and crew:
  • Director: Rozzy Adams
  • Principal actors: Heather Robbins, Tatum O'Leary, Hatty Burton
  • Cast: Freddie Allaway, Chloe Saunders, Ellie Wade

What was successful about the shoot?
  • We got all of the footage we aimed to shoot done.
  • We finished earlier that we expected too without having to rush or compromise the quality of our footage.
  • We started earlier this time, which meant that we didn't run out of sunlight, which we had issues with at the last shoot.

Outline any particularly creative shots?
My personal favourite shot of this shoot is the low angle shot of the protagonists running from the zombies.
Other shots that look really effective are a mid-shot that moves towards the actors as they run towards the camera, and a use of whip pan as the protagonists run past the camera.

What was less successful? Why?
At one or two points during the shoot we had to stop and wait for people to walk out of the background of our shot. We anticipated this would be an issue as the cemetary is , so put up a sign

How important was your storyboard in the filming process?
